Dr. Swarupa Mitra is an accomplished and widely respected Radiation Oncologist with over 24 years of post-MD experience in cutting-edge cancer care. An alumna of the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences, Ranchi, she underwent advanced training in RapidArc, Respiratory Gating, and Stereotactic Radiosurgery at top-tier institutions. Dr. Mitra is recognized as a medical progressive in Delhi-NCR, having been part of the pioneering team that first introduced Image-Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT) to the region. Her clinical practice focuses on gynecological, breast, and gastrointestinal malignancies, combining high-precision internal and external radiation techniques to improve patient outcomes.

  • Gynecological Brachytherapy: Highly specialized, image-based internal radiation for cervical, uterine, and vaginal cancers.
  • RapidArc & VMAT Technologies: High-speed, volumetrically modulated arc therapies that shorten treatment times while ensuring precise dosing.
  • Respiratory Gating & SBRT: Tracking and compensating for tumor movement caused by respiration during treatment.
  • Breast Cancer Radiotherapy: Custom-tailored radiation regimens following breast conservation surgery.
  • PET-Based Radiation Planning: Incorporating metabolic PET imaging to precisely contour tumor boundaries.
  • Played a key role as a founding leader in establishing the Department of Radiation Oncology at FMRI Gurgaon.
