Restoring blood flow and bringing energy back to your daily life.

Experiencing chest discomfort or learning that your coronary arteries are narrowed can be deeply unsettling. Choosing to undergo angioplasty is a vital step toward restoring healthy blood flow and protecting your heart. Shifara Health exists so that this critical decision—and the process of receiving care in India—is never a journey you have to take alone.

Coronary angioplasty (also known as Percutaneous Coronary Intervention, or PCI) is a minimally invasive procedure used to open narrowed or blocked coronary arteries. A long, thin tube (catheter) is threaded through an artery in the wrist or groin to the site of the blockage. A small balloon is then inflated to widen the artery and compress the plaque against the artery wall.
In most cases, a tiny wire mesh tube called a stent—typically a modern drug-eluting stent (DES)—is permanently placed to keep the artery open and reduce the risk of it narrowing again. Cardiac centers in India perform these procedures daily in catheterization (cath) labs. Interventional cardiologists may use imaging technologies such as IVUS and OCT to guide stent placement.

Cardiac institutions in India offer catheterization labs without the long waiting times or prohibitive costs often associated with treatment in many Western or regional healthcare systems. International patients receive FDA-approved, high-quality drug-eluting stents implanted by experienced specialists who perform thousands of interventions each year. This allows patients to receive prompt, advanced cardiac care at a fraction of the cost, supported by nursing and recovery services.
How Shifara Health supports you from your first message to your return home.
We review your angiography reports and cardiac imaging, connect you with an experienced interventional cardiologist, and arrange your medical visa, travel, and hospital bookings. Everything is organized before you board your flight.
A Shifara Health representative welcomes you upon arrival. Your hospital admission, specialist consultation, cath lab schedule, and room arrangements are all prepared in advance, allowing you to focus entirely on your treatment.
From pre-procedure preparation through the cath lab and into recovery, our team stays by your side. We serve as a constant bridge of communication between your medical team, you, and your family back home.
Recovery after angioplasty is often quick, but long-term results depend on ongoing cardiac care and taking prescribed medications, including antiplatelet therapy, as directed. We coordinate your follow-up appointments, confirm when it is safe for you to travel, and continue arranging virtual consultations with your cardiologist after you return home.
We believe in transparency before commitment. The figure below is a starting point. Your Shifara Health advisor will share a personalized estimate based on the number of blocked arteries, the type and number of stents required, and your chosen hospital.
| Procedure | Indicative cost (USD) |
|---|---|
| Angioplasty & Stent (CABG) | $4,000 – $5,500 |
